Riddersviks Gård, built circa 1760, lies like a jewel by the shore of Lake Mälaren, in Hässelby in western Stockholm. Today Riddersvik consists of an elegant 3-storey manor house, two detached wings, a barn, a cottage plus outbuildings. The manor house has a dining room and lounge rooms, plus numerous conference and guestrooms. The other buildings feature additional conference and guestrooms, as well as a recreation room. In August 2004, we completed the renovation of ten single rooms in the heritage-listed Red Wing.
The ground floor, including the Main Dining Room, was renovated in 2005.
On Walpurgis Night in 2004, the Old Hässelby Pier was re-opened. Believed to have been built in the late 17th century by the order of Queen Hedvig Eleonora, it created a link between Färjestaden on the island of Svartsjölandet and Hässelby. From there the old road went to Lasse Maja Inn at Barkaby town square, and continued to Ulriksdal Castle – like an ancient outer ring road! The pier is linked to the waterfront walk, about 100 metres from the allotment gardens.
